about
This roughly 6-minute odyssey takes you on a journey through 3 different rock genres. It begins in a brutal grungy swamp world, opening in a way that’s reminiscent of a lotus flower violently being dragged into the sunlight. It then enters a lush and bright psychedelic realm where the lotus flower is free to love, dance, and grow on a carefree path to enlightened confidence. It transforms into a graceful instrumental piece and ends in a climax of intense and passionate unravelling that represents the complexity and beauty of the overwhelming mystery of life that looms before us.
lyrics
Take it all away
Everything we made
Lay it all to waste
Leave it all for shame
Put me in my place
Remind me where I lay
I’m doing the best I can
I’m doing the best I can
What are you trying to prove
When you say you don’t approve
When you take it all away
You throw away my name
So when you ask me who I am
Try to understand
I’ll do the best I can
You see I’m not your standard man
But you see it all the same
Never in a range
So try to understand
I’m doing the best I can
I’m doing the best that I can
I’m doing the best that I can
I’m doing the best that I can
I’m doing the best that I can
Becoming my own man
The best that I can
The best that I can
